There are three different ways to access OverDrive once your account has been setup.
1. The new Libby app is the easiest way to get started with digital books and audiobooks (for users on Android, iOS, or Windows 10 devices) learn more
2. The original OverDrive app (for users on Android, Chromebook, iOS, Kindle Fire, or Windows 8/10 devices) learn more
3. OverDrive.com (for any user on a Windows or Mac computer) learn more
Libby App
Step 1
Install the free Libby app from your device's app store.

Open Libby and find Fairfield Library.
Step 3
Browse our library's collection and borrow a title. When prompted, sign in with your card number and pin (10 digit phone number).
Step 4
Borrowed titles appear on your Shelf and download to the app automatically when you're connected to Wi-Fi, so you can read them when you're offline.
From your Shelf, you can:
Tap Open book or Open audiobook to start reading or listening to a title.
Tap the cover image, then Send to Device to send a book to Kindle.

What do I need to access Overdrive?
A valid library card and Internet access
What is my login for Overdrive?
Login with your 4-digit library card number. Your PIN is your phone number (without dashes or spaces) the Fairfield Library has on file.
How long may I keep the materials I check out?
Items may be checked out for 7 or 14 days.
Can I renew my Overdrive items?
Yes. To renew an item, log in to your Overdrive account three days before the due date and, if the item is not on hold, the option to renew will be available.
How many items can I check out at one time?
You may have 5 items checked out at one time.
How do I return my Overdrive eBook or Audiobook?
Items checked out with Overdrive expire automatically when the check out period is over. The item will still show in the Media Console or on your mobile device but will no longer be accessible.
Can I return an item early?
Yes, you may return an item early. The process varies depending on the device you have. See Overdrive's help page or ask library staff for assistance.
